The Meo Vac market, held every Sunday in Ha Giang province, is unique in the northern mountainous region of Vietnam. The market is not only where the locals meet, it is also a gathering place for the Mong and many other ethnic minorities living in the North of Vietnam. Terrain of rugger rock mountains high and sharp, the local people had spent 6 years to construct 20km of road and especially the workers had to hang themselves to work on the rugger rock cliffs during 11 months and finally the road was completed and those workers named this thread road is The Road of Happiness.
Enjoy spectacular landscape and the nicest photos at the Heaven Gate. More than special, you can get a 3600 view of all over mountains and primitive jungles and river bending along mountain sides to the red river delta. You can also visit the Palace of Cat King (the King of Hmong minority) Market goers must start early in the morning. Those selling cattle have to wake up the earliest, usually around midnight, to walk their cows to market. Many walk dozens of miles, climb mountains and cross streams to get there, yet they never appear to be tired and are always smiling and cheerful.
